Steve Terrell '75, New Gift Planning Committee Chair

Steve Terrell '75, New Gift Planning Committee Chair

The University School Board of Trustees is thrilled to announce Steve Terrell '75 as the next chair of the Gift Planning Committee. Steve and Sally Terrell have been loyal volunteers at University School for years, and have been connected to the school for generations: son Jeff Terrell '03, father Bob Biggar '50, brother Mac Biggar '79, and countless nephews. Since graduating in 1975, Steve has been an active alumnus, serving the school as Class Agent and Decade Chair for the Annual Fund. He was elected a Trustee in 2007 and remains on the Board today. We are fortunate to have him lead this effort.

A Note from Steve:

I look forward to providing you with information and ideas we hope will help you make wise decisions to effectively care for your family and contemplate the legacy you'd like to leave. We will also provide information you may find helpful as year-end approaches. I was blessed to have US invest in my future when I was a student and now I am pleased to have the opportunity to give back and invest in its future.

In my work as a wealth advisor and in my life as a father and husband, I've dedicated countless hours to creating financial and estate plans contemplating the future and am well aware of their importance. However, the importance of a plan was made crystal clear to me when I recently faced a serious health challenge. My wife, Sally, and I reviewed our estate plans in earnest to ensure our family would be provided for if something were to happen to me and to investigate the ways in which we might give back to the institutions that shaped our lives.

One of our top philanthropic priorities is University School. We are eternally grateful to US for the wonderful education it provided our extended family, the many lifelong friends made, and of course, for instilling Responsibility, Loyalty and Consideration. With gratitude, we have incorporated a gift to US through our estate plans.

I encourage you to use University School as a resource. Feel free to call Lorie Hollington Smith, Associate Director of Advancement, who will be happy to help with any questions and provide additional information. You can reach her at [email protected] or 216-292-2142.

Thank you for your support!
